Make An Impact Sewing One Seed At A Time

Seed Sewers Inc. is a non-profit organization offering sewing education to disadvantaged communities and aspiring seamstresses.

We’re on a mission to repurpose usable items in a positive manner.

Just in the United States alone, we produce over 17 million tons of textile waste annually.

19% of the waste is burned. 15% of the waste is recycled. And the other 66% ends up in landfills.

At Seed Sewers Inc. we teach children and adults how to reduce this waste through sewing education and events.

Meet The Founder

Hello, my name is Alexandria and I’m a self-taught seamstress who’s been obsessed with fashion all my life. I founded Seed Sewers Inc. because I’m on a mission to keep the skill of sewing from becoming a lost art.

The generation before us often says they grew up with mothers or grandmothers who made all their school clothes, patched holes in their garments, and hemmed their pants over the years. This increased the life expectancy of their clothes and kept them from filling their closets with fast fashion.

Unfortunately, our generation can’t say the same, so my goal is to keep this skill set of sewing alive and help you reduce unnecessary textile waste by making old clothes feel new.
